Review Policies of the ¡°Journal of Arts and Cultural Management¡±

Article 1: purpose
1. This policy is to define the review policies of Journal of Arts and Cultural Management.

Article 2: manuscript
1. Manuscripts by the member of Korean Society of Arts and Cultural Management submitted to Editorial Committee are reviewed.
2. Manuscripts already published or submitted to other journals are not reviewed.

Article 3: review committee
1. The Editorial Committee forms a review committee by assigning 3 reviewers for each manuscript considering the manuscript¡¯s theme and reviewers¡¯ major.
2. When an editor member submits manuscript, the editor cannot be assigned to review the manuscript.

Article 4: review request
1. The Editorial Committee provides assigned reviewers with the manuscript and a review report form to request review.
2. Authors¡¯ identification should not be revealed.
3. Reviewers should make fair and objective review report to the Editorial Committee.

Article 5: review criteria
1. Review criteria include evaluations on subject, method, research structure, creativity, implications and formats.

Article 6: review results
1. Review results include Accepted, Accepted under Conditions, Revise and Resubmit, and Rejected.
Article 7: judgement
1. The Editorial Committee makes judgement by the process described below.
judgement meaning
Publish - (Review results) Two or more ‘Accepted’
- (meaning) Publish without revision
Publish after revision - (Review results) In case it does not fall under above category and two or more persons evaluate as ‘Accepted under conditions’ or higher.
- (meaning) After revision, the Editorial Committee decides on the publication
Resubmit after revision - (Review results) In case it does not fall under above categories and two or more persons evaluate as ‘Revise and resubmit’ or higher. It is also applicable, in case, one person ‘Rejected’ while satisfying such request.
- (meaning) After revision, originally assigned reviewer makes decision, and the Editorial Committee confirms on the publication
Reject - (Review results) Two or more ‘Rejected’
- (meaning) Reject
Article 8: review and resubmit period
1. Reviewers should submit review report to the Editorial Committee within 3 weeks after the first review request. Otherwise, the reviewer may be changed.
2. Revised manuscript and revision summary report should be submitted to the Editorial Committee within 2 weeks after noticed about the revision. Otherwise, submission may be nullified.
3. Reviewers should submit 2nd or 3rd review report to the Editorial Committee within 2 weeks after the second or third review request.
Article 9: petition
1. The person who submitted a manuscript and were rejected can make petition within 3 days on the judgement.
2. On petition, the Editor in Chief can request reconsideration to the original reviewers. The Editor in Chief can also call a meeting of the Editorial Committee and form a new review committee for the manuscript by the decision of the Editorial Committee.

These policies shall enter into effect as of October 1, 2008.
These policies shall enter into effect as revised as of June 1, 2014.
These policies shall enter into effect as revised as of Sep 1, 2019.
These policies shall enter into effect as revised as of June 1, 2021.
